Red Pressure
Acrylic on canvas, 90cm - 120cm
Red Pressure is a thought-provoking artwork made with acrylic paint that brings attention to the social pressure on women to wear makeup. The artwork reflects the idea that while makeup can make women feel good, it also leads to insecurity. Society supports natural beauty, but when a woman is not wearing makeup, they say "Are you sick?". The eye represents society. This is why the red line flowing from society, flows towards the female figure. But instead of looking beautiful on her, it makes the woman physically worse. The eye is upside down to show that society contradicts itself.
